Memories and dedications to Mary:

men·tor n 'men-"tor, Latin, from Greek MentOr 1 capitalized : a friend of Odysseus entrusted with the education of Odysseus' son Telemachus 2 a : a trusted counselor or guide b : TUTOR, COACH. A very special thing happened to me not too long ago. I was the favorable recipient of a most worthy gift: true friendship from an honorable guide. Mrs. Mary Toerner was my mentor, friend and teacher. Her stylish grace and genteel demeanor made her stand out from all others. Her knowledge of our family history and her willingness to share this information made her indispensable. Mary was never at a loss for kind words. She treated everyone equally and was always the diplomat. Her passing takes with it a small piece of my heart. -Michelle, State Commissioner

In Memory of Mary
For all those who came under Mary's spell, we are all the poorer with her passing. Mary--always gracious, standing tall, head held high and shoulders back, marching to the pipes playing "The Campbells Are Coming"...Mary was truly the mother of Clan Campbell in Arizona. Clan means children and Mary gave birth, loved, fed, and guided her clan and watched us grow. I first met Mary over 10 years ago at a Highland Game in Tucson. She carried out her responsibilities for years as State Commissioner and later as Regional Director with a mother's touch--soft but firm as a mother's love should be. To her youngest daughter Mary, grandson Colin, and the rest of her family, I extend my most heartfelt sympathy. -John Badger, Clansman
